This enables real-time online e-learning and offers a chance to get individualized attention and thus enhance their knowledge. The major driving force behind the growth of e-learning is the workplaces or offices that encourage their staff to further their educational background through e-learning. For instance, companies and institutions face stiff competition from their counterparts and are always forced to stay on top of the competition. Thus, it is imperative for them to keep their staff updated with the latest. So, they cash in on the e-commerce transactional functionality and other related tasks. The organization is more concerned on the growth of knowledge of their staff so that the knowledge can be accessed and reused by them. Hence, those indulge in e-learning are able to concentrate and focus their knowledge gained in a meaningful and relevant way for the growth of the organization. So, basically the demand to survive among the fittest is the driving force behind the compelling need to opt for e-learning. When such knowledge is achieved through e-learning, the organization is in a position to skillfully and tactically manage it, capture and store it and make it accessible in a positive method. Americans want to spend more time on Internet and they want it more than sex. They are giving up sex and friends to go online. They can’t live a day without going online. These were revealed in the recent survey conducted by JWT advertising agency among the 1,011 Americans. According to survey, they can sacrifice anything for Internet. 20% net users are not having enough sex due to their net addiction. 50% respondents said that they can’t live without Internet and it is their most important thing in life. Internet is luring people away from Sex, Socialisation, watching TV and reading habits. Most want mobile internet access. Top 3 technology items most could not live without: 1. Internet.2. Mobile.3. Yahoo announced unlimited E-Mail storage for its both beta and normal users starting in May onwards. This is the 10th anniversary gift from yahoo mail for its users. Yahoo mail was launched in 1997 with 4MB storage space. Yahoo Mail increased storage space to 100MB in 2004 and 1GB in 2005. Gmail is giving stiff completion to Yahoo mail with lot of useful features. Microsoft missed the boat with its snail mail i.e; Hotmail. Top E-Mail providers: 1. Yahoo Mail – 250 million users2. I am a physician from India who has been following the technology industry for the past 4 years. Users are gradually moving from desktop applications to internet rich applications. Web 2.0 sites are on the rise. Blogging has reached phenomenal heights. 2003: 1. I browsed from internet cafés on slow dial up connections. 2. My net usage was 20 hours per week. 3. I never heard the words “Blog”, “Digg” and “You tube”. 4. My primary email was Yahoo and secondary one was Hotmail. 5. Primary search engine was Google. 6. I spent 40% of my browsing time on Yahoo, 15% on Google, 15% on MSN networks. 7. Email took about 40% of my net usage. 8. Microsoft was a giant at that time.9.
