  India reached seventh position in the internet population and 3.2 crore Indians are now accessing internet despite low broadband penetration. Google India is now among the “Top 15” websites in the world due to this sudden spurt in internet usage in India. Google is now the number one internet property in the world with 77% reach while Yahoo is gradually losing the grip over internet.  Top 5 internet properties:  1. Google sites: 77% reach 2. Microsoft sites: 64% reach 3. Yahoo sites: 55% reach. Are you still using Yahoo mail? 4. AOL: 27% reach with little international presence. 5. Wikemedia: Power of community.  Top 7 countries in internet reach:  1. China: 1 in every 6 internet user is from China.  2. USA: 1 every 7 internet user is from America.  3. Japan: 6% of internet population are from Japan.  4. Germany: This country represents 3.7% of internet population.  5. Britain: 3.6 crore internet users are from UK.  6. France: 3.4 crore internet users from France.  7. India: Just 3.2 crore Indians access internet. India represents 3.2% of internet population. But India will reach 3rd position within 1 year, according to estimates.  If Indian Government aggressively encourages broadband deployment, India will easily reach 3rd position in internet population.   Blogs are now the most popular communication tool and readers now trust bloggers and its content. Corporations are now using blogs to send the message to the customers. Blogs help in building relationship with customers. Blog readership has seen 300% growth in the past 4 years. 50% of online users are now reading blogs regularly.  According to the latest survey, blogs have more impact on netizens than social networks. 40% of blog readers are taking some action after seeing an ad.  Influential blogs: Technology, Media, Entertainment, Games, travel, automotives and health.  At present, 70% of marketers are now using social networks while 66% are relying on blogs for the marketing of products. 45% of them are using video sites like YouTube. Americans prefer internet over sex

  Americans want to spend more time on Internet and they want it more than sex. They are giving up sex and friends to go online. They can’t live a day without going online. These were revealed in the recent survey conducted by JWT advertising agency among the 1,011 Americans. According to survey, they can sacrifice anything for Internet.  20% net users are not having enough sex due to their net addiction. 50% respondents said that they can’t live without Internet and it is their most important thing in life.   Internet is luring people away from Sex, Socialisation, watching TV and reading habits. Most want mobile internet access.    Top 3 technology items most could not live without:   1. Internet.2. Mobile.3. Television.How long they could live without Internet?1. 15% could live only one day without going online.2. 21% could go for another 2-3 days.3. 19% respondents say they could go for a few days.4. 18% could go a week or more.Results are almost similar in young and old age people. 20% respondents willingly spent less time on sex due to their online time. 48% are feeling something important is missing when they are not online.Internet addiction is gradually rising and is now even spoiling our sexual life. Unlimited storage from Yahoo Mail

  Yahoo announced unlimited E-Mail storage for its both beta and normal users starting in May onwards. This is the 10th anniversary gift from yahoo mail for its users. Yahoo mail was launched in 1997 with 4MB storage space. Yahoo Mail increased storage space to 100MB in 2004 and 1GB in 2005.   Gmail is giving stiff completion to Yahoo mail with lot of useful features. Microsoft missed the boat with its snail mail i.e; Hotmail.  Top E-Mail providers:  1. Yahoo Mail – 250 million users2. Live or Hot Mail – 228 million users 3. Gmail – 51 million users. Money will be refunded to premium customers of Yahoo mail if they request it. Users will be banned if they abuse this service. India’s NO.1 E-Mail service provider Rediff.com recently offered unlimited email storage. In future, storage is not going to be criterion for opting email service, it will entirely depend on quality of service, features and customization. Google’s domination over Indian webspace

  Compared to the world, Google's domination is complete over Indian web space. In the Alexa rankings, Out of the top four, three sites are from Google network. Though Yahoo is in the first place, Orkut, Google India and Google are occupied second, third and fourth places respectively.     Orkut became the "My Space of India". Every Indian teenager hooked to Orkut for networking. 90% of Indian search market is occupied by Google and its Indian arm.       Other Google Sites like Blogger (11 th place), and Youtube (13 th place) are gradually gaining ground among the Indian netizens.
