Blogs are becoming more powerful

  Blogs are now the most popular communication tool and readers now trust bloggers and its content. Corporations are now using blogs to send the message to the customers. Blogs help in building relationship with customers. Blog readership has seen 300% growth in the past 4 years. 50% of online users are now reading blogs regularly.  According to the latest survey, blogs have more impact on netizens than social networks. 40% of blog readers are taking some action after seeing an ad.  Influential blogs: Technology, Media, Entertainment, Games, travel, automotives and health.  At present, 70% of marketers are now using social networks while 66% are relying on blogs for the marketing of products. 45% of them are using video sites like YouTube. They are also using Email, message boards and forums for marketing purposes. Many companies are now opening their own channels on sites like YouTube and Blogger to increase awareness about their products.  American President Barack Obama successfully used internet platforms like Twitter, YouTube and FaceBook to spread his “Change” message. 10 changes in my internet life during 2003-2007

  I am a physician from India who has been following the technology industry for the past 4 years. Users are gradually moving from desktop applications to internet rich applications. Web 2.0 sites are on the rise. Blogging has reached phenomenal heights.  2003:  1. I browsed from internet cafés on slow dial up connections.    2. My net usage was 20 hours per week. 3. I never heard the words “Blog”, “Digg” and “You tube”.    4. My primary email was Yahoo and secondary one was Hotmail.    5. Primary search engine was Google.    6. I spent 40% of my browsing time on Yahoo, 15% on Google, 15% on MSN networks.     7. Email took about 40% of my net usage.  8. Microsoft was a giant at that time.9. E Donkey was my major P2P application.10. Internet explorer was my major browser.2007:     1. I am surfing internet from my home on broad band connection.    2. My net usage is 100 hours per week.    3. I am maintaining 24 blogs and 1 website. Digg is my primary source for technology news.4. My primary email is Gmail. Yahoo mail is my secondary one.    4. Primary search engine is Google.   5. I am spending 40% of my surfing time on Google, 40% on web 2.0 sites and 10% on Yahoo and MSN networks.  6. Blogging accounts for 40% of my browsing time.7.
